Toot Your Own Horn
Very much in the same vein as ‘Let’s Go Girls’ I wanted to make a piece that was about being proud, standing up for who you are, treating yourself like royalty, and taking up space. It’s also a tribute to some of my icons who embody this: Bowie, Prince, Bananarama etc My maternal lemon and baby are making another appearance and ‘How to build a girl’ by Caitlin Moran picks up on the theme of the choices faced in being a mother or a role model. ‘Toot Your Own Horn’ acrylic on canvas, 40x40in (100x100cm) acrylic painting on deep canvas elegantly tray framed in black (108×108cm). Shown at TY PAWB contemporary Art gallery as a finalist in the biannual open Autumn/Winter 2024/25
